The last day of school at the Podmurvice Elementary School in Rijeka was not quite ordinary! 1st b grade students had the opportunity to get familiar with the YouTube channel of The Routes of the Frankopans project and with Frankopan´s picture books in their printed and audio editions.
The first-graders liked the picture book “The Wilful Wand” the most, which talks about the Nova Kraljevica castle. After getting familiar with the picture books, a small art workshop on the topic of Frankopan castles followed.
All of the above was presented by our youngest collaborator on the project – Luka Zulian from the 6th grade of Podmurvice Elementary School, with the support and cooperation of the school librarian Mrs. Alida Devčić Crnić and the principal Mrs. Dubravka Dužević.
But what made us especially happy was that one of the students was inspired by what he heard about the Frankopans and visited the Nova Kraljevica castle and the Old Town of Zrinski with his family!
We thank Podmurvice Elementary School for this beautiful activity and spreading knowledge and insights about the importance of the Frankopan and Zrinski families in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County!
