A few days ago (April 23), World Book Day was celebrated. On this occasion, Podmurvice Elementary School from Rijeka conducted a very interesting activity that affects our Frankopans!
Podmurvice Elementary School participates in the Erasmus project “Art & Literature in Education’s Nature. Is it an A. Li. E.N.?” with five other European countries.
One of the activities they carry out as part of the project is TwinReaders, i.e. reading in pairs. Podmurvice Elementary School reads with the Spanish Gymnasium Purezza de Maria from Madrid, which sent them the English version of Don Quixote, and they sent them the English version of our Frankopan picture book The Wilful Wand by Velid Đekić.
Spanish students read The Wilful Wand, and chose the Frankopan picture book The Treasure of Trsat. After the reading, very interesting leaflets were made, and the young Spaniards were introduced to the story of The Routes of the Frankopans and are looking forward to a future trip to some of the Frankopan castles.
On the Night of the Book on April 23, 2021, they held an international Zoom meeting with the participation of 32 Spanish and Croatian students and 4 teachers.
All praise for the Erasmus team of Elementary School Podmurvice Rijeka, which consisted of: Luka, Neo, Niobio, Bruno, Leda, Vita, Luna, Nika and Marta, led by librarian Alida Devčić Crnić and secretary Marin Bogičević.
