A three-day educational workshop for interpreters was held in Kraljevica

Organized by the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, and for the needs of the CTR The Routes of the Frankopans project, we held a three-day (September 28-30, 2021) educational workshop entitled “Interpretation and innovative approach to heritage presentation” in Nova Kraljevica Castle, intended for employees of our new interpretation centres. The aim of the workshop was to bring closer the interpretation and application of innovative models in the approach to the presentation of heritage to our dear visitors and work in general.

After getting acquainted with the basics of heritage interpretation, participants had the opportunity to hear about the approach to the visually impaired through an interesting lecture by Mr. Emil Mandarić (President of the Association of the Blind of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County) and get acquainted with the concept of gamification in theory and practice.

On the last day, the focus was on additional tools needed for the development of an interpretation project and the use of a methodology for independent development and project management in heritage tourism.

The participants also tried their hand at creating an interpretation project, i.e. based on the acquired knowledge, they developed concepts of thematic products.

Three educational and fun days are behind us, and the workshop was conducted by Iva Silla, a licensed trainer of the European association Interpret Europe.

It all resulted in wonderful and creative activities through which they learned new skills and acquired new knowledge.

We thank everyone for their response and active participation and we look forward to future opportunities for joint education and cooperation!
