Symbolically, on the Day of the Execution of Zrinski and Frankopan (April 30), on the Island of Krk in Gradec Castle, the cradle of Frankopan, a presentation of a new attraction of cultural-tourist route was held – tourist-mountaineering bypass “Frankopan Hiking Trails” which was made by the County and the Mountaineering Association Tuhobić.
All points of the Frankopan route are connected in the concept of a mountain-tourist bypass. In this way, hiking, cultural and historical tours were connected. In addition to the 20 points of the Frankopan Route, another 21 points of the hiking route were added. The mountain points are geographically or in some other way connected with the Frankopan points, and together they form a whole of the Frankopan Hiking Trails. Tourist tours (20 points) or historical-mountaineering (41 points) are possible. Program participants eventually receive various awards and recognitions. For the hiking route, a diary was made to collect stamps by route points, all in accordance with the visual identity of the Routes of the Frankopans.
At the presentation of the Frankopan Hiking Trail, Gradec Castle came to life in the most beautiful way possible – full of mountaineers and lovers of natural and cultural heritage, and the occasional program was attended by the prefect Zlatko Komadina, who declared the bypass open. Damir Konestra, President of the Tuhobić Mountaineering Association, said more about the bypass, its origin and realization. Along with other speakers, a love letter from Fran Krsto Frankopan to his wife Julia was read, also written the evening before the execution.
In addition to enjoying hunting goulash, Frangipane and Frankopan white wine, one could also buy Frankopan souvenirs or mountaineering materials made for the bypass.
