The cultural-tourist route The Routes of the Frankopans and the Visitor Centre “Large Carnivores” in Stara Sušica are the winners of the silver charters of the national award “Sunflower of Croatian Rural Tourism – Sunflower Award” in the category of rural tourism project.
The awards, traditionally given by the Croatian Association for Tourism and Rural Development “Village Members Club”, were presented at a ceremony held in Cavtat as part of the 5th International Congress on Rural Tourism.
As many as nine awards arrived in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, among others the championship title of the Great Golden Sunflower went to the “Ethno Hotel Balatur” from Tribalj. The Golden Charter in the “Craft Tourism” category was awarded to “Suza T.B.” from Matulji, and the same recognition went to Camino Krk in the category “Active tourist facilities in rural areas”. OPG Villa Plasa from Jurdani won the silver charter in the category “Traditional (rural) gastronomy”, and Jasminka Gršković from Krk in the category “Projects / holders of protected and marketing marks”.
Special awards were also given to the Kvarner Wine Association from Novi Vinodolski for connecting and promoting wine tourism destinations, and to the Patricija Rumac family farm from Ičići for reviving the family’s agricultural tradition.
