On April 29 and 30 this year, the first edition of the cultural event Night of Fortresses was organized as part of the European project FORTITUDE. The main goal of the event is to promote fortification architecture and monumental heritage while attracting as many visitors as possible to heritage sites by offering them various programs and activities.
As many as seven locations of The Routes of the Frankopans joined the Night of Fortresses, and we were equal in working hours, interpretive guides and free programs.
The program included locations of the route where interpretation centres are located – Trsat Castle, Grobnik Castle, Castle in Bakar, Nova Kraljevica Castle, Tower in Bribir, Zrinski Castle in Čabar and Zrinski Castle in Brod na Kupi – which offered visitors expert guides with presentations of the set of interpretation centres, and a playful tour “Dark Secrets of the Frankopans” was held in Bakar.
April 30 is especially important for The Routes of the Frankopans because it marks the Day of the Death of Zrinski and Frankopan, so we are especially pleased that on that day we were able to offer programs at various locations on the Frankoapan route so you could choose the one that suits you best.
