This is how it all started… In mid-November, we launched a contest on our social media called the “Frankopan Gift of St. Nicholas”.
The name Nikola has great significance in the ranks of the Frankopans because it is Nikola IV Frankopan who was the first member of the family to bear that surname and one of the most powerful members of the family. Therefore, on the occasion of the feast of St. Nicholas this year we have decided to award our youngest friends of the Cultural-Tourist Route The Routes of the Frankopans.
It was a creative art competition divided into two age groups – preschool children and children aged from the 1st to the 4th grade of primary school.
As the crown of the activity through which we wanted to encourage children’s vision and creativity, as well as get to know the Frankopan estates of their own region, today in the Maritime and Historical Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka the exhibition “Frankopan gift of St. Nicholas” was opened as part of which you can see over 100 great children’s works on the theme of Frankopan castles from the Cultural-Tourist Route The Routes of the Frankopans, of which 10 were awarded.
As part of the opening, Deputy Prefect Marina Medarić and Sonja Šišić, Head of the Department for Culture, Sports and Technical Culture of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, presented the winners with Frankopan gift packages, expressing great satisfaction with the successful implementation of this activity and continued involvement of county children, kindergartens and schools in our big project The Routes of the Frankopans.
Gift packages consist of various promotional materials of The Routes of the Frankopans project, and the winners of the main prizes, among other things, won a package of Frankopan themed picture books.
The exhibition is free and can be viewed until January 6, 2022, in regards to the all epidemiological measures related to the Museum.
