Five Frankopan estates merged into a trip “The Routes of The Frankopans” – find out how it went!

A wonderful working Saturday (June 26, 2021) is behind us – on The Routes of The Frankopans we hosted dear guests from Zagreb who, as part of a personalized program, visited five Frankopan sites on the islands of Krk and Vinodol.
We started the morning in the Nova Kraljevica Castle by visiting the Visitor and Interpretation Centre and the Multimedia Hall, which offer many interesting contents. Then we headed to the Island of Krk, or to the town of Punat, where we continued by boat to the Islet of Košljun, where the Franciscan monastery with the Church of the Annunciation of Mary is located. Apart from the church, Košljun also hides a handful of other interesting things, such as a rich ethnographic, archeological, natural history and sacral collection.

We continued our journey to Frankopan’s Vinodol, where we visited the Turan Tower in Bribir, which preserves the historical phase of the transformation of the Tower into a prison, and which also houses the Bribir Interpretation Centre. In addition to the Tower, we visited other interesting collections in the library building, such as the “Frankopan Room”.

The penultimate point of our trip was always an impressive defender of Vinodol – Drivenik Castle!

We ended the wonderful gathering in Bakar with a visit to one of the youngest Frankopan castles and the Interpretation Centre, after which we took a walk through the old town of Bakar and rounded off the gathering in the best way – with local food and drinks!

We truly thank the Tourist Boards of Vinodol Municipality and the City of Bakar who made it possible for our dear guests to take with them wonderful souvenirs and taste some of the local specialties.
