Karlovac County Prefect Martina Furdek-Hajdin and her associates visited the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County with the aim of informing about the experiences and further plans in the implementation of The Routes of the Frankopans project.
Prefect Zlatko Komadina and his associates hosted the delegation of the neighboring county at two Frankopan locations, in the Interpretation Centres Kraljevica and Grobnik, and on that occasion they were presented the entire project that Primorje-Gorski Kotar County started in 2005, and the renovation of all castles was completed in May this year.
It is interesting that the castles and old towns of Zrinski and Frankopan families extend to the Karlovac County, and this county, following the example of The Routes of the Frankopans project, would implement its project Touch of Civilization through which it would rebuild and connect ten fortifications in its area. with significant investments, a new tourist attraction of Karlovac County will be created with a special emphasis on the part of history associated with Zrinski and Frankopan families.
The visit of Karlovac County was also an opportunity to present the Frankopan bread Frangipane, which was made as part of a project in collaboration with the bakery Demetra from Škalnica to promote The Routes of the Frankopans through gastronomy based on recipes from the time of Zrinski and Frankopan families. Cooperation was also established with Pavlomir Winery, Kao Kakao confectionery, award-winning producers of Krk cheese and olive oil, and with chef Andrej Grgić from the Castrum restaurant in Grobnik Castle, who revived recipes from this noble family. We will bring more about all this soon!
Prefect Komadina announced the continuation of cooperation and connection of these two projects of valorization of cultural and historical heritage with the aim of creating unique tourist attractions in the area of the two counties.
